Two Hotels Broke Ground at Power Plant of Hampton Roads
Hampton Roads, VA- Recently, the Hilton Garden Inn and SpringHill Suites by Marriott broke ground at the Power Plant of Hampton Roads, strengthening the strategic economic development and revitalization movement of Hampton and its Coliseum Central district. With construction now underway, the two hotels, valued at $37 million, are expected to open in late summer of 2007. Both properties will be developed and managed by LTD Management Company, L.L.C., an award-winning hotel development and management group headquartered in Chesapeake, VA.
The 83,000 square foot Hilton Garden Inn will feature approximately 147 rooms, an on-site restaurant, 1000 square feet of meeting space and will allow guests to choose between four different room types. The 88,000 square foot SpringHill Suites by Marriott will feature approximately 124 spacious suites that include a living areas separate from the bedroom, a sofa bed, microwave, refrigerator and other amenities, and over 3,600 square feet of flexible meeting space. Both hotels will include an indoor pool with hot tub, wireless Internet access throughout, a business center, fitness facilities and more.
The construction of the new hotels will also provide over $650,000 in new tax revenue for the city and bring over 100 new jobs to the area.
